Hiluckey is one of the powerbank manufacturers with whom I have my difficulties. This is a manufacturer that often advertises very high capacities for its powerbanks, but I have my doubts about this for various reasons.
Nevertheless, we have a Hiluckey powerbank on test here today, namely the Hiluckey B02P 27000mAh powerbank.
This is supposed to offer 27000mAh and this for around 31€ at the time of the test. At first glance, the power bank doesn’t look bad at all! We have a very chic design and a 20W USB C port, just the large capacity.
But how does it look in practice? Is the Hiluckey B02P really a 27000mAh power bank?
The Hiluckey B02P 27000mAh powerbank in the test
At first glance, the Hiluckey B02P looks quite chic! I like the green casing with the small display in the upper left corner.
The general quality impression is also decent! Surprising!
However, there are also first question marks here, so the powerbank is quite compact and light. It measures 150 x 74 x 24 mm and weighs only 364g. This would make it one of the lightest and most compact 27000mAh powerbanks currently on the market!
Nice in itself, but only if the capacity of 27000 mAh were real.
The ports
The Hiluckey B02P has 3x USB A and 1x USB C, which is first of all a very good port configuration.
2x USB A – 5V/2.4A
1x USB A – Quick Charge and Super Charge 22.5W – 4.5V/5A, 5V/4.5A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
1x USB C – 20W Power Delivery – 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A, 12V/1.67A
First of all, this is a very positive port configuration for a normal all-round powerbank! Especially the 20W USB C Power Delivery port, which is ideal for smartphones like the iPhone 14 Pro or Pixel 7, is pleasing!
The USB C port is also used to charge the powerbank with up to 20W.
The capacity
We come to the most exciting point, the capacity. Hiluckey advertises a capacity of 27000mAh. Can this really be maintained?
Wh | mAh | % | |
5V/1A | 52,812 | 14274 | 53% |
9V/1A | 55,069 | 14884 | 55% |
9V/2A | 51,636 | 13956 | 52% |
The answer is unfortunately no! The powerbank comes to just under 15000mAh in the test. Is this surprising? Did I receive a Monday model? I think unfortunately no!
In my opinion, the Hiluckey B02P is simply too small for a real 27000mAh and only 55% of the manufacturer’s specification cannot be explained by poor efficiency.
Loading time
Let’s take a look at the charging time.
On a USB PD charger, the powerbank is filled from 0% to 100% in approx. 4:20h. On a 5V/2.4A charger, it takes just over 8 hours. Both values are absolutely OK!
Conclusion
Hiluckey is now officially on my “do not buy” list. This is a shame in itself, because the Hiluckey B02P 27000mAh powerbank is a very nice powerbank at first glance!
The design is chic, the port selection is good and the price is also fair!
Unfortunately, however, the capacity is lacking. 27000 mAh are promised, but only just under 15000 mAh are delivered! Unfortunately, this makes the powerbank a NoGo.
In my opinion, Hiluckey is simply lying about the capacity, because the powerbank is simply too small and light for 27000 mAh, so this cannot be an incorrect measurement on my part.
Too bad! Because otherwise this would be a nice powerbank!
